Ultimate.2D-DARKSiDERS Hack Pc: The Most Fun and Challenging 2D Game Ever

Since its beginning, the Dynasty Warriors series has been a picture-perfect example of a hack and slash game. The core gameplay is exactly as the genre would lead you to believe. As a warrior, you slice and dice through waves upon waves of enemies.

There have been many games set in the Lord of the Rings universe, but Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor may be the most satisfying to play thanks to its hack and slash RPG gameplay. As new character, Talion, a captain of the army of Gondor, players wield a sword, dagger, and bow and arrow, all the necessities required for cutting down an army of orcs.

The original Prince of Persia was a far cry from the visually stunning 3D adventure Ubisoft Montreal wound up giving gamers in 2003. Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time was a mingling of platforming and hack and slash, a pairing that works really well. The prince is an acrobatic character, allowing players to vault off of walls to add some style to the combat.

Blade of Darkness is a brutal role playing game that features close quarters hack and slash combat. The game launched in 2001 only on Windows. Players will explore a number of realistic environments that have similarities to locations throughout Europe and Africa. This game world is dominated by the powers of sword and magic with four playable classes available to the player. Unlike most games the differences between these characters extends beyond visual and skills with each character starting ...[Read Review]

To this point, character progression is very different than Diablo but manages to scratch a similar itch thanks to its use of randomly generated dungeons, an isometric perspective, and hack and slash combat.

That being said, compared to other consoles releasing games like Elden Ring, Godfall, and other hack-and-slash gems, the Switch seems to be slightly lacking. While its selection of hack-and-slash titles might not be as visceral as those seen on the PlayStation and Xbox, there are few action-packed gems for those looking to slice and dice with Nintendo power.

It might have begun life as a mobile game, but hack-and-slash fans are truly missing out if they haven't tried Implosion. Any game that has the player piloting a sword-wielding mech across a frozen wasteland fighting zombies and mutants most certainly deserves more attention.

While it might seem a bit basic in the controls and gameplay, it truly is a solid hack-and-slash experience. There's something impeccably satisfying about slashing and blasting through hordes of monsters. Pair that with its robots, power-ups, and creature designs, and it will definitely scratch an itch for some.

Darksiders is about as classic of a hack-and-slash title as they come, and its Zelda-esque elements make it ideal for the Nintendo Switch. Considered by some to be a hybrid of God of War and Ocarina of Time, it has enough familiar and enjoyable elements to be loved by fans in both camps.

A more elaborate take on the slay-the-dragon formula, the game truly has a lot to offer for any RPG fan. However, it's the combat that will draw hack-and-slash players in for the long haul. And with everything from hydras and chimeras to slay, there's always a bigger beast to bash.

"Strange yet satisfying" might be the best way to describe Astral Chain. Playing as a police detective who works with a robot mech partner might seem like the plotline of an extremely complicated and convoluted anime title, but it makes for a rather interesting hack-and-slash game.

The combo-focused combat is reminiscent of a Devil May Cry title, and the ability to control two characters at once is something of a novel idea. Different mechs have different advantages, and the action is as crunchy and heavy as a hack-and-slash title can be. It might be a weird combination of certain elements, but it works in the game's favor.

As Zagreus, son of the titular Lord of the Dead, players will have to fight their way out of the jaws of the underworld to join the rest of his godly clan on Mount Olympus. Along the way, Zag will find weapons, encounter bosses, and make deals with other deities to escape his domineering father's clutches. The combat is excellent, the weapons and loot are plentiful, and death is more of an inconvenience than an end-all to progress. At the end of the day, it's a hack-and-slash title that begs to be enjoyed.

Before its reinvention in 2018's PlayStation 4 reboot, the God of War series carved out such a niche for itself that it became a sub-genre. The original PlayStation 2 God of War's combination of cinematic presentation, over-the-top action and hack and slash gameplay spawned a legion of imitators looking to recreate the style and feel of Kratos' epic adventures.

A marriage of Castlevania's gothic aesthetic and hack-and-slash gameplay, God of War's influence on Lords of Shadow could be clearly seen in the game's gigantic bosses, called Titans. It was also felt in the game's upgradable weapon, the Combat Cross. For fans without older hardware, Lord of Shadows is available via backward compatibility on Xbox consoles.

Made by the developers of Dead Space, 2010's Dante's Inferno set its carnage in the opening canticle of The Divine Comedy instead of Greek mythology. A hack-and-slash take on classic literature, EA's publicity campaign for the game (which included a fake religious protest at E3) overshadowed Visceral Games' efforts, as did its proximity to God of War III. Still, The Divine Comedy can be judged on its own merits as a solid hack and slash with a unique setting.

Heavenly Sword was positioned as the heir apparent to God of War and a PlayStation 3 system seller upon its 2007 release. While it didn't quite work out that way, the game is still a solid hack-and-slash title that has style to burn. Heavenly Sword leaned heavily into cinematic presentation, with Andy Serkis playing main antagonist King Bohan and serving as a writer and dramatic director. It's also one of the few God of War clones with a female protagonist, with Nariko (played by Fringe actress Anna Torv) standing out in a genre still dominated by male characters.

We were disheartened to learn that the next Darksiders in the series would not be a third-person hack and slash like the previous games in the series. Instead, it would give players a more Diablo-like isometric experience.

Darksiders Genesis is a top-down hack and slash ARPG developed by Airship Syndicate and published by THQ Nordic. The game was released in late 2019 and received positive reviews from all top game review websites. It was released as a spin-off prequel in the Darksiders series and gave us the first look at the fourth Horseman of the Apocalypse named Strife. The game itself is an amazing world and combat system that has become a staple of the Darksiders franchise. The combat system is exactly what you would expect from hack and slash games and it is also something that makes it a Game like Elden Ring.

The gameplay itself is a mixture of role-playing with hack and slash combat. These unique innovations coupled with an amazing open-world make Nier: Automata a great Game if you Like Elden Ring.

The most recent game on this list is also one of the best 2 player games on Xbox. Tiny Tina's Wonderlands is a fantasy-based spin-off of the Borderlands series, giving a much-needed shakeup of the trusted formula. Partake in a whacky adventure led by your Dungeons and Dragons DM Tiny Tina voiced of course by the incredibly talented Ashley Burch. Tiny Tina's Wonderlands has really let Gearbox's artists go wild with their new environments as a result of this new fantasy setting, and it really is a breath of fresh air from the relatively bland environments you come to expect from Borderlands. The writing here is on point as well with the usual zany humour you'd come to expect from this studio's games; however it feels far more at home than it did in Borderlands 3.

The first major offshoot of the long-lasting Darksiders franchise, Darksiders Genesis is a top-down "twin-stick" shooter featuring Strife himself. It's also got a two-player cooperative mode, where the other player picks up a sword in the role of War. A fun premise that quickly gives way to very solid execution. We felt Genesis got overlooked by many for its early 2020 release, but you'll be hard-pressed to find many better hack 'n' slash titles to have launched this year. While we'd really love to see Strife get a full Darksiders game as the other Horsemen did, it's hard to find a fault with Genesis on its own merit.

Each of the GoW games starts out on a high note, whether it be fighting the multi-headed hydra in God of War or battling the gods as you ascend Mount Olympus in God of War 3. Alongside DMC, GoW helped define hack and slash combat for more than a generation of consoles to come.

Odin Sphere Leithrasir is the remaster of Odin Sphere. But don't let this fool you; this old dog has learned some new tricks. While the story elements were left alone for this remaster, the gameplay systems received huge overhauls. The combat system, in particular, has been heavily reworked. Unleashing combos, juggling foes, and activating spells/abilities never felt this rewarding before. Leifthrasir might be 2D, but it is every bit as intense and good as its 3D hack-n-slash counterparts scattered throughout this list. 2ff7e9595c
